Xinjiang's foreign investment covers over 60 countries and regions: official
?。‥CNS) -- Northwest China‘s Xinjiang Uyghur Autonomous Region has invested in more than 60 foreign countries and regions, and four overseas economic and trade cooperation zones have been established, said Erkin Tuniyaz, chairman of the Xinjiang regional government, at a press conference Saturday。
In the first half of 2022, Xinjiang‘s foreign trade has increased by 39.1 percent year on year, and its foreign investment has increased by 291 percent year on year。
Xinjiang has held six China-Eurasia Expos and 43 commodity expos linking neighboring countries in total。 The RMB cross-border settlement covers 113 countries and regions, with a total of 329.3 billion yuan ($47.62 billion) in receipts and payments。
In 2021, Xinjiang‘s GDP reached nearly 1.6 trillion yuan (about $232.8 billion), doubling the figure in 2012, said Ma Xingrui, secretary of the Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Regional Committee of the Communist Party of China。
The annual per capita disposable income of urban residents has increased from 17,921 yuan ($2,590.86) in 2012 to 37,642 yuan ($5,441.95) in 2021。 Annual per capita disposable income of rural residents has increased from 6,394 yuan ($924.39) in 2012 to 15,575 yuan ($2,251.7) in 2021。
